Home Turf ~ Sacramento International Airport, Terminal A (upper level)
"Pretty much what you'd expect. Got a couple beers and some nachos. Nothing spectacular about this place, just a bar to get a drink and some food. TVs surround and you can see most gates from your seat. Waitresses were fair and the prices were average, for an airport bar anyway. Nothing spectacular, but nothing negative either. "

Vino Volo ~ Sacramento International Airport, Terminal A, near gate A1
"Arriving at this oasis, I felt a certain amount of security and self awareness. It was like coming home after a long day in the tumbleweeds of society's headaches. Unfortunately, maybe it felt a little too homely, as almost immediately upon arriving my "wine expert" waitress informed me I was only allowed to order food. So I'm giving this place 2 stars, the same way my waitress gave me the finger.  Wines are expensive and the seating is pretentious. Had I had a bit more clarity I would have shown myself the door."

Denver ChopHouse and Brewery ~ Denver International Airport, Concourse A
"Ok, a steak house and a bar at the airport?! Sold. Prices are high, and wait time can be lengthy, but if you've got the time and the cash, this is your spot. "

Laurelwood Brewing Co. 1 ~ Portland International Airport, Concourse A
"Being that I fly Horizon Air a lot (free drinks on Horizon, bonus), this is the customary stop for local fliers. It's not just the beers, but the food is great as well. They often offer special brews that they serve at the restaurant (seasonal IPA, winter brew, etc.). If you fly Alaska or Horizon, this is your destination spot. They have additional seating around the side of the bar. Do not take a beer with you through the terminal. It is a huge fine. Consider this fair warning. "

Chilis Too ~ Oakland International Airport, Terminal 1 (gate 6)
"This is the only place to grab a cocktail in Terminal 1. The service isn't great (told us we couldn't have a table because our flight was taking off in half an hour), but all told, it's the only bar in the terminal. If you catch an open seat at the bar, they have the usual brews (Sam Adams, Bud, etc.) and a full bar. No specials while I was there. I'd recommend another place, but there isn't one. "

Aviator's Club Smoking Lounge (B) ~ Denver International Airport, Concourse B (between gates 30 -40)
"I used to live in Denver, and I only found out about this place while I was on the curb in 10 degree weather and someone told me to go in, have a smoke, and warm up at the bar. This was a few years ago. Now, when I fly coast-to-coast, I purposely choose a layover in Denver because of this bar. There isn't much to it, but you can light up and have a beer. It is amazing. I wish more airports offered this option. Aviator's is my coast-to-coast go to bar, and it never disappoints. Props to Colorado for crafting a decent IPA. "

Lunch Box Terminal B ~ Burbank Bob Hope Airport, Terminal B
"This is coming from a guy who has done his homework: Estella is hands down the best bartender I have ever had in an airport. The place is unassuming and you wouldn't think to stop here if it wasn't the only bar in the terminal. The offer a couple of decent beers and they've got a full bar, which is good because I like to mix it up when I'm 40,000 feet. Anyway, bar was just a bar but Estella was the best. It had been a rough weekend and I needed to get my game face back. Estella took care of that and more. Decent bar, better-than-expected service. A decent little treat before hitting the friendly skies. "
