Facing a six and a half hour layover in DTW on November 26th, how delighted our party of 5 (2 parents, 3 adult children) was to have chosen the Fox Sports Bar as our lunch place! The food was good (not stellar, but good) but the whole experience was made worthwhile by Cindy, our server. She was friendly, knowledgeable about the menu, courteous, efficient and funny...all without being intrusive. She brought drink refills before we had to ask her, and took all our "special need" requests (extra sauce, on the side, omit the onions etc) with a cheerful smile. I loved it! Had hours to kill and it was my first time there. Was recommended by someone to go there!! Got a lil tipsy before my pedicure & manicure also for the first time! If you're going to be having a layover in DTW and you're a smoker, then you are in luck. You can have your cigarette without trekking through security again and again! The Fox Sports bar is right in the middle of terminal A and is always a stop for me when I go through the airport. If you fly solo often, there always seem to be interesting characters to pass the time with. Drinks are reasonable for an airport. The menu is a little lacking - they focus mostly on finger foods. There isn't even a normal burger, instead they serve mini burgers. Other items include your standard chicken wings, fingers, nachos, etc. In regards to the smoking - it is quite well ventilated and 1 foot outside of the open doored establishment you would not know it was a smokers den. They do require you to purchase something to smoke in there though - but you seat yourself and I have seen quick people get in and out without having to buy something. All in all its a great place to stop in and have a few drinks. The lacking menu would normally prevent 5 stars, but since they all smoking, I give it 5 stars.
