Aviator's Club Smoking Lounge (B)

A little hidden, this unassuming gem is the smoker-friendly bar that hosts a decent compliment to the classic airborn cocktail. Whether you're on a layover or getting home, this is a good spot to catch a quick smoke with your beer or cocktail. Aviator's is a full service bar with TVs that usually host ESPN and CNN, depending on the time of day. With nothing much to look at besides the United plane loading and unloading passengers, Aviator's is a nice spot to relax with your cigarrette, your beer, and the local talk of the day.

Editor's Review

This bar isn't flashy, and it doesn't need to be. The appeal to Aviator's is that you can smoke there. They do serve a locally brewed IPA which is good (DPA), and a copule other brews on tap. The staff is kind and curteous. The menu is nothing special, if there even is one. But if you need a smoke before, during, or after a flight, this is the place to stop. It's on the third floor so you have to take escalators to get to it. You'll know it when you see it. Side note: They do a very good job of keeping the smoke in the bar. Walking by you can't smell anything.

I used to live in Denver, and I only found out about this place while I was on the curb in 10 degree weather and someone told me to go in, have a smoke, and warm up at the bar. This was a few years ago. Now, when I fly coast-to-coast, I purposely choose a layover in Denver because of this bar. There isn't much to it, but you can light up and have a beer. It is amazing. I wish more airports offered this option. Aviator's is my coast-to-coast go to bar, and it never disappoints. Props to Colorado for crafting a decent IPA.
